Bayley Lab

Dr. Peter J. Bayley is Director of Research at the War Related Illness & Injury Study Center, VA Palo Alto, and Clinical Associate Professor (Affiliated) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Bayley’s lab is active in the development of innovative treatments and novel approaches to healthcare.

His research interests include rehabilitation for chronic pain and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) using a mind-body approach such as yoga and meditation. He takes a cognitive perspective to explore mechanisms of action. 

He is currently PI for a VA-funded study investigating meditation as a treatment for PTSD, and an NIH funded study investigating telehealth yoga as a treatment for chronic pain.

Aging does not begin at 65 years of age. How we live the last several decades of life is hugely influenced by the care we receive in the first few decades of life.
