Health & Safety

The health and safety of our employees is a top concern. Please review the emergency procedures before there is an emergency. You should know what to look for and where to go.

General Safety, Injury Prevention (IIPP) and Emergency Preparedness
This is a training requirement of ALL personnel, and will provide valuable training for emergency situations and maintaining a safe working environment. Available through the STARS website.

Emergency Procedures
What to do in the event of an earthquake, fire, flood, bomb threat, or other disaster.

SPRC Health and Safety Orientation
Every member of SPRC is required to participate in an orientation to the emergency preparedness plan. It's useful to review this document periodically. After reading the document, take the Safety Test to notify Garrett Joseph that you have met the requirement.

Health Screening, Safety, and Compliance (HSSC) Program
Required health screening and training for Clinical Research Staff. The SPCTRM web site provides background and information about this training and compliance requirement. The necessary forms will be completed, and instructions provided to you by Elsie Wang when you complete your hiring paperwork.

Reporting Accidents on the Job
If you or a staff member is involved in an accident, report it to Elsie Wang (723-7849) within 24 hours. Additional assistance can be provided by Garrett Joseph (723-5459).

Health Classes at the Stanford Health Improvement Program (HIP)
Every quarter, SPRC hosts a wide range of health and wellness classes through the Health Improvement Program (HIP). These classes are available to all Stanford faculty and staff.

Ergonomics Training
Is available through Stanford's STARS web site, via AXESS. Under "training" tab select "search catalogue" and search "ergonomics". Select Ergonomics-Computer Workstation (EHS-3400).
