Stanford Medicine Sierra Camp 2026 FAQ
When is Sierra Camp 2026?
Thursday, June 4 (3:00 pm) – Sunday, June 7, 2026 (noon)
Who is eligible to attend?
Any Stanford Medicine Alumnus is eligible to submit their name in the lottery. A Stanford Medicine Alumnus is one who finished at least three quarters of a degree-granting program (MD, PhD, MS, BS, etc.) at the School of Medicine and all former Stanford Medicine postdocs, residents, interns, and fellows. You must satisfy any of these requirements to participate in the lottery. Those who are not eligible will be removed from the lottery system. How much would it cost for me and my guests to attend?
Stanford Medicine Alumni Camp weekend is all-inclusive. Meals, most activities, and special presentations are included.
Adult (age 13 & up) - $700
Child (ages 5-12) - $300
Toddler (ages 3-4) - $150
Infant (ages 2 & under) - No charge
How do I sign up?
Sign-ups are a two-step process. You MUST register for the lottery between January 12 - March 1, 2026. If you are among those who secure a space, you will be informed on Monday, March 23rd, and then will have until Monday, April 13th, to complete your online registration and pay your fees. Submitting your online registration with your fees is the only way to hold your space. If you have not completed your registration by the end of business on April 13th, your space will be forfeited.
Why must I enter my name into a lottery instead of just registering on a first-come, first-served basis?
Due to the event's popularity, a lottery ensures that everyone has an equal chance of being selected to participate.
When can I sign up for the lottery?
The sign-up period for the lottery begins on Monday, January 12th. We will distribute an email to all individuals in our database, including a link to the lottery sign-up. Or you can visit the Stanford Medicine Alumni website at med.stanford.edu/alumni. We will have a link available on the main web page.
How many guests can I bring with me to camp?
Maximum guests per alumnus is 5 family members (plus alum = 6 total)
What should I know before I sign-up for the lottery?
Before signing up for the lottery, you must know the number of guests in your party, including yourself.
Once I submit my name and my guest’s name, what should I expect?
Once you submit your name and guests' names, you will receive a confirmation that you are entered in the lottery. On Monday, March 23rd, you will be notified via email if you have secured a space. You have until Monday, April 13th, to confirm your party with a paid deposit. If we don’t receive your paid deposit by Monday, April 13th, your spaces will be forfeited.
My spouse is also an alum. Can they submit their name in the lottery?
Yes, if your spouse is also an alum, they are eligible to submit their name in the lottery. However, there can only be 1 lottery winner per family.
When is the last day I can submit my name to the lottery?
Last day to submit names to the lottery is Sunday, March 1, 2026.
When will I know if my name was chosen to register?
We will notify the winners via email on Monday, March 23, 2026.
If my name was not selected, what happens next?
If your name was not selected, you will automatically be entered in the 2nd lottery round and notified on Monday, April 20th, if you are selected. Every year, the Sierra Camp lottery system is renewed and begins a new cycle. You must enter the lottery each year.
If I don’t win the Stanford Medicine Alumni lottery or cannot attend this year, is there another opportunity for me to attend Sierra Camp?
