Beyond the Farm Service Day
Cancer CAREPoint CARE Kits and No-Sew Blankets
Thank you to all that could join us for our annual Beyond the Farm day of Service!
Beyond the Farm is an annual event that seeks to extend Stanford's spirit of service to communities around the world through the volunteer efforts of alumni, family and friends. With the dedication of every individual within the Universities 220,000+ strong alumni community, we can make a world of difference!
On Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. the Stanford Medicine Alumni Association partnered with Cancer CAREPoint, a local non-profit dedicated to transforming support for cancer patients, survivors, family members, and caregivers in Silicon Valley through personalized, one-on-one counseling, assistance, resources, and education. Volunteers for our Beyond the Farm Day of Service got the chance to learn more about Cancer CAREPoint and how they serve patients with cancer in our local area and helped create Cancer CARE Kits consisting of items to bring comfort, relief, and support, which were made available at no charge to recipients through Cancer CAREpoint. We were able to put together approximately 100 bags, complete with blankets, in three hours!
Volunteers also had the opportunity to interact with a staff member from Cancer CAREPoint to ask questions about the organization and converse about their services to the community.
Thank you again to all of our wonderful volunteers and alumni for a memorable and meaningful day of service to our community!
