In January we featured the work of the Tang Lab, featured in the award-winning documentary, Matter of Time. The film, premiering on Netflix worldwide on February 9, describes epidermolysis bullosa, a rare skin disease for which the FDA recently approved an autologous cell-based gene therapy.

Cell & Gene Therapy Showcase
Stanford Alpha Clinic and The Tech Interactive has embarked on a new collaboration to inform the public about the latest in cell and gene therapy development. Every second Saturday, Stanford Alpha Clinic hosts the Cell & Gene Therapy Showcase at the Tech Interactive's Innovations in Healthcare exhibit, featuring cell and gene therapy research and clinical teams from Stanford Medicine.
Through conversation and hands-on activities, visitors of the Tech Interactive can expect to learn about topics such as the role of the T-cell in protecting the body against diseases, how gene editing works, the impact of a rare disease on patients and families, as well as the potential of cell and gene therapy to "cure" certain rare diseases.
