Publication highlight: The Role of Biologics in the Treatment of Food Allergy
In a recent clinical commentary review article published in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice, Sindher et al briefly review the most recent clinical trials using biologics for the treatment of food allergy and discuss what needs to be done to facilitate the implementation of these therapeutics into the clinic. These discussions include which individuals should receive biologics, whether the biologic should be given with oral immunotherapy or used alone, and the identification of the appropriate dosage and duration of therapy. Further clinical studies investigating these issues would allow for more wide-spread use of these innovative therapeutic strategies.
