Canary Challenge 2015

Jeremy running hands-on ultrasound demo at Canary Challenge

The 2015 Canary Challenge was held Saturday, Sept. 26, with members of the Dahl lab doing their part to help make the day a success.  The annual cycling event raises funds for early cancer detection research through the Canary Foundation and the Canary Center at Stanford.

Jeremy and Leo volunteered to set up and run a hands-on ultrasound demo at the event village, where race participants, supporters, and their families could learn about current research involving ultrasound for early cancer detection (read more here and here), and try live-scanning a fetal phantom.

Carl post-race at Canary Challenge Finish

Carl participated in the race for Team RSL, riding the 50-mile course in memory of his uncle Brian and raising over $1300! (Thank you to all of Carl's generous sponsors!)

The Canary Challenge is a wonderful event for a very important cause, and our lab had a great time helping out.  We look forward to doing it again in 2016!
