Residents/Fellows

The Stanford Division of Thoracic Surgery, Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, offers a 1-2 year fellowship in clinical research in thoracic surgery, for general surgery residents after their PGY 2 or 3 years, who plan a career in academic thoracic surgery.  Our division consists of five active surgeons, all of whom have serious clinical research interests and productivity.  We also have a very competitive Thoracic Track Residency training program. The research fellow would serve as the primary investigator on a defined research project within the division.

Masters in Science in Health Policy/Health Services research or in Epidemiology and Clinical Research may be obtained as part of a 2 year research fellowship appointment. A competitive salary (if not provided by the home institution), as well as discounted masters tuition, will be offered.
