Jauhtai Cheng, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Jauhtai Cheng, M.D., Ph.D. is a VA Palo Alto Health Care System neurologist and Clinical Assistant Professor (Affiliated) [VAPAHCS], Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Stanford University. He is responsible for medical and neurological aspects of diagnostic assessments and ongoing consultation with primary care providers and other clinicians.  He also provides follow-up services.  Dr. Cheng is bilingual and is able to conduct assessments in Mandarin when necessary. He is also involved with in-service training and Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship training at the Center. 

Dr. Cheng has specialty training in Clinical Neurophysiology and has been the Site Investigator for VA Cooperative Study Program CSP556 doing transcranial Magnetic Stimulation research for the past 3 years.  He is working to improve the understanding of how TMS affects neuronal network environments, and ultimately, how it affects cognitive function.
