Clinical Services

The Stanford/VA Alzheimer's Center provides a high level of expertise in multiple health care disciplines. Our clinicians are skilled in difficult-to-diagnose memory problems as well as those complicated by traumatic brain injuries.  They also have particular expertise in determining appropriate medications for older adults suffering from memory problems. Early identification and management of cognitive decline and AD is important so that families can plan for the future, take advantage of available community services, and develop effective coping strategies. Our primary goal is to keep patients in the community and avoid or postpone institutionalization.

The Center also provides advanced caregiver support, community education, and professional training.  These services are now available using Remote Telehealth technology, which allows us to expand our reach to rural and remote areas in California and serve a greater number of families affected by memory loss.
