Student Organizations
For MD Students...
The Stanford Medical Student Association (SMSA) functions
as a local liaison for national medical student organizations and addresses
issues that affect Stanford medical students and the School of Medicine
community. SMSA sponsors a wide range of scientific, political, social,
and health-oriented activities for students, and provides monetary support
for community service projects.

For PhD Students...
Biomedically Affiliated
Stanford Students (BioMASS) is an organization
created by graduate students enrolled in the Biosciences programs. BioMASS
organizes seminars, career fairs and other meetings that address areas
of particular interest to graduate students. This student-led organization
has sponsored presentations on employment opportunities and trends in
academia as well as in business, biotechnology and government. BioMASS
hosts an array of social gatherings, from ski trips to barbecues—all
designed to bring graduate students together in relaxed and informal
surroundings.
