How to Become a Physician Scholar

Residents and fellows from clinical departments across our School of Medicine are eligible to become members of the Stanford Society of Physician Scholars. It is expected that Scholars will contribute to our community by attending SSPS mixers and having an interest in mentoring Stanford medical students. To learn more about the SSPS program, please visit our About page.

Each clinical department nominates their own candidates for membership in SSPS. Membership nominations are accepted from July to September. Please send an e-mail to your department chair or program director with a summary of why you are interested in joining SSPS and a copy of your curriculum vitae. Once your department chair or program director has filled out this short Qualtrics form, you are officially nominated and will receive a welcome e-mail from the SSPS program within 2-3 weeks.

For questions, please send an e-mail to sspsadmin@stanford.edu.
