Self-Inspection Topic for Quarter 3, 2007
Individual Emergency Preparedness
The quarterly topic for Quarter 3, 2007 is Individual Emergency Preparedness.
For this quarter, ALL work areas in the School of Medicine will use the General Workplace Self-Inspection Form; this includes offices, labs, shops and shared/common areas. Support documents for Health and Safety at Stanford and the School of Medicine, Preventing Injury and Illness in the Workplace and Laboratory Safety-Related Topics are available online.
Individual Emergency Preparedness
- Emergency Orientation Checklist - In addition to completing the General Workplace Self Inspection, all Departments/Divisions are expected to ensure that everyone in their area goes through the emergency orientation checklist. This checklist covers basic life safety elements that everyone should be familiar with. It should also allow a supervisor the opportunity to go over any other Department/Division specific emergency information.
- Emergency Preparedness - We have updated our website with additional emergency preparedness information that you and your co-workers can use to become better prepared at work and home.
- What To Do in an Emergency - New emergency cards were mailed out this past summer and we encourage you to review the instructions, add your specific information and have these with you at all times. If anyone did not receive a new card, check with Security or the Health and Safety Programs Office to obtain copies of the card.
