School of Medicine's Emergency Hotline Message

At approximately 12:05 AM, on Saturday, December 8, 2007, the Stanford campus, including some buildings at the School of Medicine, experienced a power outage caused by a breaker malfunction which took both Cogen and PG&E power offline. Emergency generators across campus, including those at the School of Medicine were activated.

Events such as this latest power outage serve as a good reminder that now is an excellent time to review your state of preparedness, including emergency plans for your department, lab or work area as well as those for your home and family

Please review and post the emergency prep reminder; additional information on preparing for an emergency is available on our website.

Paraphrasing the immortal words of Red Barber, “You have to be as fully prepared for the small one as you are for the big one, or else you won't be really prepared for the big one.”
