Copiers and Scanning
Faxing, Scanning, Copying and Printing: We
have purchased Multi-Function Devices (or MFDs) which support printing,
scanning, copying and faxing. The scanning technology available in these
devices is quite impressive, allowing people to scan to PDF, email documents,
and enter information about the scanned document directly at the device. There
is a high-speed black and white copier located in the copy room between
RMG and Finance in the I-building, and color copiers in the other copy
rooms; all are networked.
We're evaluating several products including centralized document management and
scanning middleware products which will allow us to move more materials online.
While all these technologies won't be in place at day one, we hope to align our
long term plan with the initial purchases.
