Qingli Hu, MD

Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics at the Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine

Graduated from Shanghai Medical College in 1956, Dr. Qingli Hu had served at the Ruijin Hospital(Formerly as the Guang-Ci Hospital), Shanghai 2nd Medical Colleague and worked for 20 years in Pediatrics Department, for clinical services, medical education and research. Dr. Hu Joined the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1978 and served for 21 years, as Regional Adviser in WHO Regional Office, the WHO Representative in Manila, WHO Assistant Director-General and Deputy Director-General in Geneva Switzerland. He retired from WHO in 1998 and backed to Shanghai China,

Since 1999 Dr. Hu served until now as the Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics at the Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine;Directr of Shanghai Research Center on Care for Children Director of the Advisory Group of the Ethics ,Legal and Social Department of the Chinese National Genome Center at Shanghai; Director, Independent Ethics Committee, Shanghai Clinical Research Center; Member of the Ethics Committee , National Health and Family Planning Commission(NHFPC) Beijing; Councilor of the International Children Center, Ankara Turkey; Member of the International Federation of Gynecology &. Obstetrics (FIGO) Committee on the Ethical Aspects of Human Reproduction and Women’s Health; Member of the International Bioethics Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris.

During his service Prof. Hu visited 60 countries, attended more than 150 Major international Conferences and Seminars; Presented more than 100 articles, reports and key note speeches on Public Health particularly related to MCH, Reproductive Health, Diseases Prevention and Control, Global Health Challenges and Bioethics etc.
