Sylvia Plevritis, PhD

Professor of Radiology (General Radiology) and, by courtesy, of Management Science and Engineering, Stanford

Sylvia is a Professor of Radiology in the School of Medicine and (by courtesy) of Management Science and Engineering in the School of Engineering at Stanford University. She is co-Section Chief of Integrative Biomedical Imaging Informatics at Stanford (IBIIS), Director of the NCI Stanford Center for Cancer Systems Biology (CCSB) and Director of the Cancer Systems Biology Scholars (CSBS) postdoctoral training program. Sylvia’s research bridges multiple levels of “big data” in cancer, including genomic, single cell mass/flow cytometry, medical imaging, pathology and clinical outcomes. By spanning molecular and population sciences through novel analytics, Sylvia aims to provide a more comprehensive perspective on cancer control strategies in early detection and treatment.
