Guang Ning, the head of Shanghai Clinical Center for Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases, the director and professor of department of Endocrine and Metabolism in Ruijin Hospital, the director of Shanghai Institute for Endocrinology and Metabolism, the vice president of Ruijin Hospital affiliated Shanghai JiaoTong University School of Medicine. Dr Ning received his MD and PhD from Shanghai Second Medical University.  He had been trained as Postdoctoral Fellow for 2 years in Baylor Medical College, USA. Dr. Ning has been focusing on the study of endocrine and metabolic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome, pituitary and adrenal disorders, hereditary endocrine and metabolic diseases caused by single gene mutation, as well as the research on pathogenesis of endocrine related cancers. Dr. Ning has received more than 20 grants and published more than 300 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Ning is the Co-Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Diabetes. He also is the associate-editors for four medical science journals, including the Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, the Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine, Shanghai Medical Journal and the Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University (Medical Science), and also on the editorial boards of several journals. He is the vice-chairman of the Chinese Endocrine Society.
