Alan Ching Yuen Yeung, MD

Alan C. Yeung, MD earned his bachelor degree from University of California, Berkeley and his medical doctorate from Harvard Medical School.  He completed his internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and a cardiology fellowship with Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.  He is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, and internal medicine. He has been at Stanford since 1993.

He sits on Editorial Board of several major cardiovascular journals and is the Chairman of the Interventional Cardiology Board of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

His current research interests include methods of assessing vascular function to better stratify high-risk coronary artery disease patients and the development of novel technologies to treat atherosclerosis. Most recently he has been leading the treatment of valve disease and hypertension using percutaneous approach at Stanford.

He is also a visionary in global transformation in health care by using mobile technology as well as Big Data.

He was born in Hong Kong and his parents were native of Shanghai.
