Plastic surgery resident Kim dies in Tahoe ski accident

 

Edward P. Kim, MD, a fourth-year resident in plastic surgery at Stanford Hospital, died Feb. 10 in a skiing accident at Mount Rose-Ski Tahoe Resort, Reno, Nev. He was 36.

Kim was born Dec. 27, 1964, in Los Angeles. He was a graduate of the Brown/Dartmouth Medical Program, class of 1996. He interned at USC-Los Angeles County Medical Center and continued his training in surgery at Stanford, beginning June 1997.

Kim is survived by his wife, who resides in Mountain View; his mother Sue and stepfather Matthew Desmond of Los Altos; his father Charles Kim; and two brothers and a sister. Services were held Feb. 17.
