May have decided how they'll use their $250 prizes, the Nurse Week Committee has announced. Ann Smyth, a 10-year Stanford veteran and currently a staff nurse on H-2 (psychiatry) plans to use the money to further her education in a clinical nurse practitioner program at UCSF. Kathy Nelson, who works on E-2 (medical/surgical trauma ICU), plans to use her stipend to attend an ICU class next year. Nelson has been at Stanford for more than five years.
