- Five Brigham Young University graduates and students stopped at Stanford during a 2,600-mile bike tour from Provo, Utah, to Tijuana, Mexico, to raise funds for Stanford's Epidermolysis Bullosa research program. When they arrived for a luncheon at Stanford, the riders had raised more than $40,000 of their $50,000 goal. Rider Andrew Berthrong shows his bike to Stanford EB patient Brandon Pill, who had met the riders as they passed through his hometown of Fort Bragg, Calif., several days earlier. All funds collected in pledges were earmarked for Stanford research. Ride expenses and equipment were sponsored by Utah-based Nu Skin Enterprises' Force for Good Foundation and Specialized Bicycles, Morgan Hill, Calif. |
