Medical staff-funded awards go to
11 nurses at Nurse Week ceremony

In recognition of Nurse Week, held May 5-9, the medical staff office provided $1,000 to support the awards given to Stanford nurses at a ceremony May 7 in Fairchild Auditorium. The medical staff stipend, which comes from medical staff members' dues, this year supported the special awards given to nurses in the following areas: strength of character, professional initiative, quality care and service, collegiality, leadership and patient support.

A total of 11 nurses received these awards. Chief of staff Larry Shuer presented the opening remarks at the awards ceremony.
