PATIENT SAFETY FAIR

Representatives of a dozen hospital departments and programs offered quick tips, safety reminders and other information to physicians and hospital staff who stopped at displays outside the SHC cafeteria March 24 during a Patient Safety Fair. Above, PAT SMITH, quality manager in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, provided information about National Patient Safety Goals and how to adhere to them every day in practice. Visitors were reminded that all individuals are responsible for patient safety. Other services hosting booths were Clinical Engineering, Medical Records, Patient Care Services, Environmental Health and Safety, the Medical Staff Office, Infection Control, Medication Management, Office of Community and Patient Relations, and Human Resources

Medical School and SHC pursue joint clinical program development, dean reports

For several months, leaders of Stanford Hospital and Clinics and the School of Medicine have been working together to establish strategic plans for clinical program development, according to a report by Dean Philip Pizzo in his March 8 newsletter.
