Maria T. Millan, M.D.
|
| Dr. Milan was recruited to join the multi-organ transplant team after her fellowship in transplant surgery at Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Millan received focused exposure and training in pediatric kidney transplantation under Dr. Oscar Salvatierra and is now an integral member of the pediatric surgical team. Dr. Millan received her residency training in general surgery at the Deaconess Hospital, Harvard Medical School after graduating AOA from New Jersey Medical School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Duke University where she graduated with class honors. In addition to her strong clinical background, Dr. Millan was, and continues to be, active in basic science research. As an undergraduate at Duke University, Dr. Millan did research in the laboratories of Dr. Bernard Amos and, during her time in Boston, she pursued productive scientific investigations under the direction of Dr. Fritz H. Bach. Dr. Millan was inspired by these two pioneers in the field of transplantation immunology. Because of this, Dr. Millan has a strong commitment to continued basic research as an integral part of her strong clinical commitment to multi-organ transplantation. |
