| Dr. Joanne Imperial received her bachelor of science
degree at Fordham University, and then spent her first
year studying medicine at University Rene Descartes,
Paris, France. In 1977 she received her M.D. degree from
the New York Medical College, Vallhalla, and then spent
the following year completing her internship in medicine
at that institution. Dr. Imperial was Resident in
Medicine and Chief Medical Resident, and completed a
fellowship in nutrition and metabolism at the New England
Deaconess Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. From
1983-1995, Dr. Imperial served in the Division of
Gastroenterology and the Department of Transplantation at
California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. She
is well known at satellite liver clinics that she often
visits by piloting her own plane. She belongs to the
International Women's Pilots Association and Ninety Nines
Santa Clara Chapter. |
