Dr. Gabriel Garcia completed his medical training at New York University. He did post graduate training at Stanford, where he developed an interest in liver disease. Subsequently, he joined the faculty at Baylor University in Houston, where he practiced and taught before returning to Stanford in 1991. He was the transplant hepatologist in the original transplant program at Stanford, and was joined by his colleagues Drs. Keeffe and Imperial in 1995. Dr. Garcia has a research interest in the natural history of chronic viral hepatitis.
