Dr. Esquivel is Director of the Adult and Pediatric Liver Transplant Program at Stanford University Hospital and Clinics and at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. He previously was Director of the Liver Transplant Program at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. He completed general surgical training at the University of California at Davis and received his doctoral thesis at the University of Lund in Sweden in 1982. Dr. Esquivel trained under Dr. Thomas E. Starzl at the University of Pittsburgh, where he acquired extensive experience in adult and pediatric liver transplantation.
