If someone in your family, or a friend, is undergoing an organ
transplant, you can help by donating a unit of blood. Blood
donations are not reserved for any patient specifically by name,
but instead are available for all patients awaiting an organ
transplant. Your donation will help maintain an adequate blood
supply. Stanford University Blood Bank provides blood to Stanford
University Hospital and Lucile Salter Packard Children's hospital
at Stanford. The need for blood keeps increasing, and the only
way this need can be met is through an equally increasing number
of healthy volunteer blood donors. By donating blood and urging
others to do the same, you can help assure that blood will always
be there when needed.
