Abstract:
Single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) is increasingly the method of choice for examining the diversity of cell types and functional states within a heterogeneous tumor sample. We previously used scRNA-seq profiling of colorectal tumors, coupled with novel algorithms for data analysis, to uncover novel insights into tumor-specific stromal signatures, epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT), cancer cell stemness and patient survival. In addition, we discovered distinct cancer-associated fibroblast (CAF) subtypes in colorectal tumors. Subsequent single cell analysis of non-small cell lung tumors revealed an even greater diversity of CAF subtypes.
