An introduction to how to deal with special issues that arise in Pediatrics. Presentation will include information on the unique challenges of designing and performing clinical trials in children and adolescents with chronic diseases; sensitive service laws regarding adolescent consent, community based participatory research and IRBs; policy and relevant research; innovative trial designs that make placebo controls more acceptable to families and children.
