Stanford Bio-X Frontiers in Interdisciplinary Biosciences Seminar, "The Importance of Cell Type: Molecular Mechanisms of Circuit Modulation in the Mammalian Brain"May 03, 2018 (Thu) | 12:15 PM -1:05 PM
James H. Clark Center, 318 Campus Drive, Seminar Room S360
: Stanford, CA
Lunch to be served at 12:00 PM; seminar begins at 12:15 PM. The ability to genetically target and molecularly characterize specific cell types has revolutionized our understanding of the mammalian brain. Dr. Heintz will discuss recent studies of molecular mechanisms that regulate specific cell types and circuits in the mammalian brain, and illustrate their role in modulation of complex social and emotional behaviors. He will also discuss efforts to leverage these data for development of a new class of circuit specific therapies for common neurological and neurodegenerative disorders.
