Stanford Bio-X Frontiers in Interdisciplinary Biosciences Seminar, "Internal and external sensory systems"

Nov 02, 2017 (Thu) | 12:15 PM -1:05 PM
James H. Clark Center, 318 Campus Drive, Seminar Room S360 : Stanford, CA

Lunch to be served at 12:00 PM; seminar begins at 12:15 PM. Dr. Liberles studies how sensory systems control physiology and animal behavior. Our five basic external senses - touch, taste, vision, hearing, and smell - and our internal senses that ensure bodily homeostasis are strong drivers of behavior. His lab studies the mouse vagus nerve and olfactory system to unravel the logic of sensory systems - from stimulus detection in the periphery to the orchestration of behavioral and physiological responses.
