In the past 25 years there's been an explosion of innovative technologies in the biomedical sciences. These technologies have opened the door to new advances in understanding the mechanisms that control living organisms. This symposium goes all the way from the instructions that govern a simple living cell to the intricate networks that operate in the human brain. Presentations will encompass reengineering life processes to generating life from scratch. SPEAKERS: URI ALON, ADAM ARKIN, KARL DEISSEROTH, JAY KEASLING, STEPHEN QUAKE, CARLA SHATZ, J.
