Abstract: Congenital and adult heart diseases are significant causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. In our seminar, we will discuss our recent work on cardiovascular development and regeneration using the zebrafish model organism. Specifically, we will describe our recent discovery of the zebrafish second heart field, the role of Notch signaling in cardiac regeneration, and the embryonic origins of pharyngeal arch artery endothelium.
