Value Informed by Patient (VIP) Framework
We recently published the VIP framework in the Journal of Hand Surgery. We believe this framework will be key in the future of patient-centerd care. The goals of this framework are to
(1) ascertain a patient’s preferences for diagnosis and treatment through collaborative decision making
(2) incorporate these preferences in defining quality and cost for the individual patient
(3) define value for the individual patient
