Amount of funding: $100,000/yr x 2 yrs
Five awards will be selected for funding. Award announcements will be made by September 28, 2009 and funding will begin October 1, 2009. Before funds can be released, research compliance approvals (SCRO, IRB, animal subjects) must be provided.
Eligibility
Applicants must be an affiliate, associate or member of the Program in Regenerative Medicine and be Instructors or Stanford faculty members with PI eligibility with Assistant, Associate or full Professor appointments
Program
The Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at Stanford is accepting applications for the Stinehart/Reed Awards. These Awards will support both seed grants and developing programs in stem cell areas that have significant potential for impact but are at this point not receiving sufficient external funding.
Each selected project will receive funding up to $100,000 per year for two years. Proposals should address any stem cell biology related question that is not currently being funded by other sources.
Selection Criteria
The criteria for evaluating the proposals will include the track record of the applicant, scientific merit, collaboration among disciplines, potential clinical applications and novelty.

Applications will be up to 3 pages in length with at least 0.5" margins and in Arial, Helvetica or New Times Roman font, 11 point or greater. There is no limit to the number of references cited and they do not count against the page limit.
3) NIH style Biosketch for all PIs with all relevant publications (no limit to the number of publications or pages)
4) Other support: including current and pending grants and their specific aims.
