Program Description:
The Center for Brain and Behavior at Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital (LPCH) is requesting applications for research awards, to foster innovative and cross-disciplinary work in the pediatric neurosciences. In keeping with the spirit and mission of Brain and Behavior at LPCH, applications must clearly incorporate novel, substantive, collaborative investigations in clinical or basic science among faculty and trainees with a pediatric bent in Neurology, Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, Developmental Medicine, and Pediatrics, and be relevant to a better understanding of the nervous system in children. Preference will be given to applications bringing together investigators across multiple departments.
Eligibility:
Lead investigators must be Stanford faculty with Principal Investigator eligibility
We will consider postdoctoral funding for Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. fellows who will be joining labs working on children's neuroscience at Stanford
Fellows already doing research at Stanford are eligible, as are those completing clinical work at Stanford and moving into full-time research
We are particularly interested in funding grants for newly affiliated, interdisciplinary teams and for those who bring new expertise to the study of pediatric neurosciences in the broadest sense
Purpose
To provide seed money to support outstanding and novel ideas
To stimulate new collaborations amongst investigators who have not worked together before
To provide funding for risky projects, in order to obtain preliminary results required to attract federal or other extramural funding
