 Amount of Funding

Up to $100,000 total costs over a two-year period (includes 15% indirect costs).

 Eligibility

  • Stanford faculty with PI eligibility (those with UTL, MCL, NTLR faculty appointments)
  • Research focus: translational research in ovarian, uterine, breast, or cervical cancer
  • Not eligible: CE faculty, Instructors, Clinical Instructors, Postdocs, and Academic staff-researchers (research associates)

 Purpose and Award Details

The Mary Kay Foundation is a non-profit public foundation, which focuses on funding research for innovative grants for translational research of cancers affecting women (predominantly ovarian, uterine, breast, endometrial or cervical cancer among others). Translational research is broadly defined as research that will provide a scientific link between laboratory research and the clinic. Ultimately, such research would lead to improvement in diagnosis, prognosis, prevention, or treatment of the cancer. Stanford University has been invited by the foundation to submit one grant proposal.

 Internal Submission Guidelines

By January 6, 2021, please submit one PDF file containing the following, in the order listed below, via email attachment to:

1) Title Page

2) Nomination letter (printed of department letterhead, addressed to the Stanford Cancer Institute Internal Review Committee, and signed by the division chief/department chair)

3) Brief research proposal (up to 4 pages, references and illustrations included in page total)
One inch margins and 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font

4) Five page biosketch or CV (this must include your current or pending other support: name of sponsor, term, amount of funding)

Selection Process:
The Stanford Cancer Institute will select the applicant to represent the university.
