Purpose
The Institute for Immunity, Transplantation, and Infection is pleased to announce an open competition for Stanford graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, clinical fellows, research associates, and Instructors, for a 1-year $25,000 "starter" grant to fund an innovative research plan in the areas of immunology, transplantation, or infection, preferably combining two or all of these areas to address an important problem.

Application Instructions
The applications should be no more than 5 pages of text (excluding figures and references) plus a budget. No salary or stipend support should be requested. Proposals and a copy of the applicant's CV should be emailed to Nancy Federspiel at nfeder@stanford.edu by Saturday, November 15, 2008. Applicants should also request 2 letters of recommendation to be emailed directly by the referee to Nancy Federspiel.
Notification
The winner will be announced by December 1, 2008.
