red bullet Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation
NIH NIA/NINDS-scored but not funded proposals:

Eligibility: faculty with PI eligibility (with UTL, MCL and NTL-Research appts.) and CE Faculty (with an approved PI waiver)
NIH NIA/NINDS-scored but not funded proposals: The ADDF is now considering financial assistance for relevant NIA and NINDS grant applications that were scored but not funded AND fall within the ADDF’s current funding priorities.
The ADDF will accept eligible applications on a rolling basis and will provide an expedited review, minimizing time and effort on the part of the investigator(s). To expedite the application process, eligible investigators may submit their NIA or NINDS applications and a copy of the study section review directly to the ADDF.
Receiving interim funding by the ADDF will enable investigators to continue valuable research projects and obtain additional preliminary data to aid in future funding efforts.
Letter of Intent due two weeks prior to these deadlines: May 22, Aug. 22, Nov. 21

Competitive Enhancement Grant (CEG)

The purpose of the Competitive Enhancement Grant is to provide those proposals with the support necessary to address the questions raised by the reviewers and bring the proposal to a fundable range.
Eligibility: applicants must be members of ASCRS who submitted extramural grant funding of individual research proposals that have been already evaluated by a funding agency and have received a “high” but not fundable score.
Amount: Maximum of $50,000, but not more than 20% of the direct cost of the proposal to the extramural funding agency exclusive of the PI’s salary.

NIH-Unfunded Award

Application Deadline: On-going Basis until Oct. 31, 2014 via proposal central
In an effort to assure that all meritorious CF-related research is supported, CFF has developed the CFF/NIH-unfunded Award mechanism to provide funding. The objective of this award is to support excellent CF-related research projects that have been submitted to and approved by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), but cannot be supported by available NIH funds.
Applications must have been submitted as an R01/R21 and fall within the upper 40th percentile. CFF support ranges from $75,000 to $125,000 per year for up to two years. (Indirect costs are not allowed.)

Dana Foundation
Clinical Neuroscience Research Grant Program

$300,000 over 3 yrs.
Faculty with PI eligibility
Purpose: invite grant proposals for these "first in man" studies involving a few patients with devastating brain disease for which there currently is no effective treatment. Funded researchers set up "controlled clinical studies" in a small number of patients with a specific brain disease, based on promising animal studies suggesting that a specific therapy either treated the condition or prevented it from getting worse.
Preliminary proposal deadline: Requests will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Those investigators chosen to submit full proposals will be notified and provided with further instructions.

The IWMF Research Grant Program is pledged to promote and support research leading to improved understanding of the cause, diagnosis, treatment, and cure for the disease Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia
