DoD Melanoma Research Program
Amount of funding: Maximum of $75,000 direct costs (plus indirects) over 1 year.
Purpose: the Concept Award supports the exploration of a highly innovative new concept or untested theory that addresses an important problem relevant to melanoma. The Concept Award is not intended to support an incremental progression of an already established research project but, instead, allows Principal Investigators (PIs) the opportunity to pursue serendipitous observations. . Studies involving non-melanoma skin cancers are not allowed under the FY19 MRP.
Stanford Eligibility Clarification*: onlyStanford faculty with PI eligibility and CE faculty (with an approved CE faculty PI waiver) are eligible. No citizenship restriction. Although the RFP states that “all investigators at or above the level of postdoctoral fellows are eligible”, the RFP does not require statement from a mentor, this is considered a research grant and not a mentored career development award.
