Internal Deadline: Dec. 21, 2007
internal submission guidelines below
Amount of funding:
Funding for up to 3 two-year grants of $50K to $75,000/year. These grants are made possible by generous gifts from the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Foundations.
Eligibility:
Stanford faculty with P.I. eligibility.
We are particularly interested in funding grants for newly affiliated teams and for those who bring new expertise to the study of pediatric brain tumors. We will also consider postdoctoral funding for Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. fellows who will be joining labs working on children’s brain tumors at Stanford. Fellows already doing research at Stanford are not eligible, but those completing clinical work at Stanford and moving into full-time research are eligible.
Purpose:
-- to provide seed money to support outstanding and novel ideas
--to bring new people into the field who have not worked on pediatric cancers before
--to stimulate new collaborations amongst investigators who have not worked together before
--to provide funding for risky projects, in order to obtain preliminary results required to attract federal funding
