Statement of Need

MRI has become an increasingly influential adjunct to mammography and ultrasound in detecting breast cancer. MRI is now being used to grade biopsies and stage patients. Studies have shown that breast MRI, especially in high risk patients is proving to be an important tool for breast cancer screening. While breast MRI is catching on, its utilization is just beginning, primarily because the exam is more complicated, time-consuming and expensive. This course will provide critical education for utilizing and optimizing breast MR in your practice.

Target Audience

This course is intended for practicing radiologists, radiology technologists, nurses, physician assistants, fellows, scientists, and anyone interested in advanced applications within the field of breast MRI.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Accreditation

The Stanford University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation:

Stanford University School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 16.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Technologists: This course has been approved for up to 14.5 ARRT Category A CE credits for those technologists attending the entire course.
