SIR Selects Daniel Sze, MD, PhD, as Incoming JVIR Editor-in-chief

Daniel Sze, MD, PhD, has been selected as in the incoming editor-in-chief of SIR’s flagship publication, the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Sze will begin his duties in October 2020.

Outgoing editor Ziv J. Haskal, MD, FSIR, concludes 10 years of visionary leadership for the journal.

Daniel Sze is a professor at Stanford University where he has spent the last 19 years helping to train the future thought leaders of interventional radiology. He is a member of Stanford’s Cancer Institute, Cardiovascular Institute, Institute for Immunity, Transplantation, and Infection, Child Health Research Institute and the Bio-X and BioDesign programs.

He served as a co-director of the SIR Y-90 meeting and a member of the SIRF Research Grants and Education division. His clinical and research interests concentrate on image-guided treatment of cancers using oncolytic viruses, radioembolization, chemoembolization and immunotherapy. He is an active contributor to the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR), an investigator on clinical trials and a consultant to start-ups and device companies.
