Stanford Radiology
Diversity Initiative

Diversity is essential to the progress, growth, and prosperity of Medicine and its microcosmoses. The Stanford Radiology Diversity Initiative aims to democratize Medicine by assembling and maintaining a critical mass of diverse faculty with far-reaching backgrounds, experiences, and ideas. Diversity is critical for our ability to serve patients in a multi-cultural environment, to provide inspiring role models for our trainees, to unfold discoveries at the interface of different disciplines, to address challenges in our health care system and to cure humanity – one patient at a time.

Imposter Syndrome Workshop

Imposter syndrome, the internalized feeling of not belonging in a particular group, is common in the medical professions. Its impact is felt at all levels of training and is particularly pervasive among historically underrepresented groups in medicine. Through discussion, interactive activities and brief didactics we will address the impact of imposter syndrome on individuals and in our institutions. After participating in the workshop, participants will have the skill to recognize imposter syndrome both in themselves and the people that they are working with, an understanding of the impact of imposter syndrome on the diversity of the medical professions, and tools that they can use in their own settings to address imposter syndrome.

3:30-4:30pm
