Overview of Collaborative Scope

The Quantitative Sciences Unit (QSU) is a unit of faculty and staff who practice data science in the Department of Medicine who engage in interdisciplinary research.  QSU faculty build their labs on the shared infrastructure of the QSU. Members of the QSU collaborate with investigators to address critical questions about disease and human health through leading in the practice of data science.

The QSU facilitates medical research for faculty on the medical campus in the following arenas:

  • Study Design
  • Data Analysis
  • Methods and Software Development
  • Data Management and Coordination
  • Education and Training

The QSU also engages in statistical research.  Some of the areas include:

  • Prediction Modeling
  • Statistical Computing
  • Study Design
  • Methods for Analyzing Epidemiological Studies
