The ProfitLab
Welcome
Under the direction of Dr. Jochen Profit, our lab combines the expertise of physicians, psychologists, sociologists, patient and family advocates, research engineers, biostatisticians, and more to improve the care of vulnerable neonates. Our research ranges from complex multi-level analyses on large data sets to uncover disparities in the quality of neonatal care to interventions designed to strengthen resilience and reduce burnout among NICU care providers. In combination, these studies seek to paint a picture of how health care system design and organizational factors can influence the quality of care and outcomes for sick newborns. Our approach has sparked interest across the field of neonatology, leading to invited presentations at conferences across the country as well as internationally.
We are housed within the California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative, an organization committed to improving the quality of care for the state's mothers and most vulnerable infants.
