Scientific Focus

Research Interests

My research focuses on the identification and characterization of cancer stem cells in human brain tumors, particularly malignant gliomas. We are pursuing this with several projects: 1) developing screening strategies using a novel colony-forming antibody live cell microarray, and 2) a novel micro-immunopanning device, 3) phage display to identify tumor specific markers and screen for cancer stem cells using assays in #1 and #2, and 4) examining EGFRvIII as a possible cancer stem cell marker
