Research InterestDr. Weinacker's research interests center around ICU outcomes. Her specific interests include venous thromboembolism, acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, and the use of echocardiography in the ICU. In addition to ongoing research in each of these areas, Dr. Weinacker has taught a course with Dr. David Liang (cardiology) on the use of portable echocardiography to evaluate hemodynamic instability in critically ill patients.

Research InterestMy research interest is on immunotherapy (including allogeneic transplant) of cancer. I have studies the mechanism of monoclonal antibody therapy in lymphoma patients and am currently working on designing new strategy to enhance the clinical efficacy of antibody therapy by infusing expanded NK cells. I am also interested in using tumor vaccine along with hematopoietic cell transplant.

Research InterestI study the comparative effectiveness and safety of competing clinical strategies in patients with kidney disease, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease. Such strategies may include medications, devices, clinical tests, policies, or other approaches to providing or organizing clinical care. My research is based on large insurance databases, disease registries, clinical databases or electronic medical records. My explicit career goal is to improve care and outcomes of patients with these diseases.

Research InterestMy lab works on biological mechanisms of adult stem cells, embryonic stem cells, and induced pluripotent stem cells. We use a combination of gene profiling, tissue engineering, physiological testing, and molecular imaging technologies to better understand stem cell biology in vitro and in vivo. For adult stem cells, we are interested in monitoring stem cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation. For ESC, we are currently studying their tumorigenicity, immunogenicity, and differentiation..

- Metabolic Bone Disease
- Endocrinology
Research InterestMy laboratory focuses on the pathways that regulate the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells into the osteoblast and adipocyte lineages. We are also studying the role of osteoblasts in the hematopoietic stem cell niche and B lymphocyte development in the bone marrow microenvironment.

Research InterestMy lab seeks to identify mechanisms regulating cardiac lineage commitment during embryonic development and the biology of cardiac progenitor cells in development and disease. We believe that by understanding the transcriptional and epigenetic basis of cardiomyocyte growth and differentiation, we can identify the most effective ways to repair diseased adult hearts. We employ mouse and human embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells as well as rodents as our in vivo models for investigation.
